HOW TO USE

The Marrok Mitt echoes the scrub mitts used in Moroccan hammams.

The mitts are used in conjunction with Moroccan Black Soap for exfoliation.

1. Let hot water create a steamy environment (or use in a sauna if you can!)

2. Lather a dollop of black soap all over your body.

3. Let the soap sit on skin for at least 5min in the warm, steamy air. This helps the soap deeply cleanse and soften skin, helping dead skin lift from the surface.

4. Rinse the soap off. (This is important as the scrub mitt needs some friction with your skin)

5. Dampen your Marrok Mitt and then use it in very firm strokes and circular movements, starting on your extremities and moving to your torso. Don't rush. Be intentional as you scrub your skin. You may see rolls of dead skin being sloughed away with the mitt as it removes the dry layer of old skin.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR MARROK MITT

Caring for your mitt is easy:

. We recommend washing your mitt after each use - you can handwash with laundry detergent or give it a gentle handwash.

. Always line dry your mitt, preferably in fresh air and sun.

. Do no tumble dry.

Keep in mind, your mitt works hard to keep you soft and smooth and that takes a toll over time so it will wear out eventually. Depending on how often you use your mitt, you may need a new one every six months or so.

FAQs

What if I don't see any dead skin coming off when I scrub?

You may or may not see physical evidence of dead skin as you scrub with the Marrok Mitt. However, it's still working to remove dry, old skin to reveal a smoother you.

You may not see the dead skin if:

. You still have soap on your skin. It's important to rinse the Black Soap off before you scrub. The mitt needs some friction with your skin. Leaving soap on will make things slippery and the mitt won't be able to 'grab' any dead skin lifted from the surface.

. You're scrubbing while under running water. After you rinse the Black Soap off, move out of the water. Friction is your friend! So scrub out of any water and with a damp (not too wet) mitt.

. Your mitt is too wet. You need the mitt to be damp, not dripping wet. Again, we're looking for some friction between the mitt and your skin.

. You're not scrubbing with the mitt firmly enough or you're working too quickly - use long firm strokes and strong circular movements

. You use the scrub mitt on a regular basis Regular use means you're keeping up with your skin's natural turnover.

. You use other exfoliants or scrub products.

. You use other scrub mitts, exfoliation towels or face cloths when washing.

How often should I use the scrub mitt?

We suggest no more than once per week. However, everyone is different and you know your skin best so adjust according to your own needs.

Don't over exfoliate! Your skin has a natural renewal process, so let it do its thing in between scrubs.

Can I use the mitt on shaved skin?

We recommend scrubbing BEFORE you shave. Scrubbing one day and shaving the next gives your skin time to rest.

Will the mitt remove fake tan?

Yes. It's a great way to remove the last of your fading fake tan!

Your tan gets patchy and fades as your skin naturally regenerates. Regeneration leaves dry, dead skin cells on the surface.

That layer of old skin is what the Black Soap softens and starts to lift from the surface and the mitt sloughs away.
