Indulge in this at-home hammam ritual to transport yourself to a world of relaxation and rejuvenation. It's not just about skincare, it's about taking a moment for yourself in today's hectic world.
Set the Mood: Before you begin, set the scene to make your shower feel like a luxurious spa. Dim the lights, light some candles, and play some calming music to transport yourself to a Moroccan hammam.

- Marrok Body- Chill gives the same cool vibes you'd find in rooftop bars of Marrakech and Tangier
Warm Up: Start your shower with hot water to open up your pores and prepare your skin. Stay under the water for a few minutes, ensuring your skin is thoroughly wet and warmed. This helps in enhancing the effectiveness of the Black Soap.
Apply Marrok Black Soap: Take a generous amount of Black Soap and spread it over your body. Massage the soap gently onto your skin, allowing it to sit for at least 5 minutes. This will enable the soap to soften your skin, making the exfoliation process more efficient. Black Soap has a low lather, but it's working!
Tip - we like to turn the water off and stand in the steam of the shower to save water
Rinse Soap OFF: After allowing the soap to sit, rinse the Black Soap off the skin lightly.
Exfoliate with the Marrok Mitt: Pop a damp Marrok Mitt on your hand and begin scrubbing your skin using firm motions. Start from your extremities, moving towards your heart. For instance, begin with your feet, moving up your legs, then arms, and finally your torso. You may notice tiny rolls or threads of dead skin, which is a sign that the exfoliation is working. If you scrub regularly or use other exfoliants, you may not see the dead skin as much, but you’re still removing the old skin cells to allow fresh smooth skin to shine through!
Rinse Off: Once you've exfoliated your whole body, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Make sure you remove all the soap and the exfoliated skin.
Moisturise: After you've towelled dry, it's essential to lock in moisture. Use your favourite natural moisturiser or consider Marrok Argan Oil, another Moroccan treasure, to nourish and hydrate your skin.
Relax & Hydrate: After your hammam at home experience, wrap yourself in a comfortable robe or loose clothing to relax for a few minutes. Drink a glass of water or herbal tea to rehydrate and replenish any lost fluids. For an authentic taste, try some Mint Tea we've provided a recipe in our blog section.
Extra Tips:
Use the Moroccan Black Soap and Marrok Mitt once a week or so.
While a firm action is needed with the scrub mitt, adjust to your own skin's needs to ensure you don't scrub too hard.
The mitt should be rinsed thoroughly after use and left to dry in a well-ventilated area. Launder the mitt regularly to keep it fresh - this is easily done on a normal wash cycle. We like to dry out mitt in the sun and fresh air.
